Welcome to Class 1! We are a class of fun, joyful 3- to 6-year-olds, with our teacher, Miss Thomas, and our wonderful teaching assistant, Mrs O’Connor.
Days in Class 1 are filled with fun, with plenty of outdoor play and learning through exploring the world around us. The hands-on approach of EYFS is embedded throughout our learning even as we move from Nursery, through to Reception and on to Year 1. We also take time to work very hard on our Early Reading & Phonics curriculum, supported by Little Wandle and working with parents to help our children become the best readers that they can be. Our time in Class 1 is full of opportunities to learn and grow, including walks around our village, assemblies, our yearly Nativity, and trips to Bowlees Education Farm, Locomotion train museum, and Barnard Castle fire station.
